Hong Kong has been perceived as “the city without ground”. Taking the first satellite town, Tsuen Wan, as an example, there are over 40 footbridges in the area, connecting more than 20 malls and creating a crisscrossing landscape.

The footbridge network in Tsuen Wan starts at the MTR station, which was completed in 1982. It sprawls from east to west, connecting destinations near Castle Peak Road and Tai Ho Road. In recent year, the network has expanded southwards to the newly developed area near harbourside.

Breaking the stereotype and re-looking into the relationship between footbridge network and urban development, Hong Kong Public Space Initiative is going to organise 3 guided tours for us!

Our programmes use the first-come-first-serve system. For successful participants, we will issue email confirmation 5 days before the programme date.
