SKY YUTAKA

SKY YUTAKA is a multidisciplinary architecture design studio founded by Sky Lee and Yutaka Yano. Based in Hong Kong, the studio has been realising project-specific designs that form part of a continuing investigation rooted in research through curatorial, landscape, architecture and design practice.

The works of the studio stem from a belief in innovation and craftsmanship. The strength of the practice lies in its ability to maintain curiosity to learn from the context and aspire toward the future.

A series of commissioned kinetic installation works which form part of ongoing studio research and experimentation in responsive environments are  featured in exhibitions in London, Hong Kong and China.

  • THE MILLS

Wearable Space is a transformable installation that invites the audience to explore the relationship between the body and space. The installation responds to its surroundings and creates an environment that heightens awareness of the surrounding environment, connecting the wearer to the space, encouraging interaction between people and nature.

The installation is activated by the wearer, transforming the open space into a space for personal performance where everyday movements become a choreography of movement in response to the space.

The work is part of a long term investigation exploring the relationship between the body and architecture, and an extension of a responsive installation which will be launched in Hong Kong in Summer 2019.
