Vertigo ONEIROPHERENIA – The Future Kaleidoscope

  • 19 Dec 2019 - 15 Mar 2020

  • 10:00 - 22:00

  • THE MILLS

Based on the theme, “2×2: Imagine to Innovate”, we took our inspiration from a title of a book by Philip K Dick, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”. Imagine what if androids can dream, what will they dream about? What if we can peer into the mind of an android? What will we see?

With the installation we built a translucent box with a reflective inner layer where we all can peer into a fantasy world a not too distant utopian future. A simulation of an android in a dream state. A reflective inner layer multiplies, it is vision to a boundless infinity.

We call this Future Kaleidoscope – Vertigo as it is hung inside the stair void in The Mills.

The Android’s Dream

The simulation of the android’s dream inside the Kaleidoscope is created by Keith Lam of Dimension Plus. The dream takes us into a dream state that depicts the intensity of buildings, a unique landscape among the world we live in – it is a unique visual pattern in a way that shows the character and living style of Hong Kong.
